We are trying to beat the heat by swimming, staying inside during the day, reserving bike riding, scooter riding, and neighborhood socializing for the evening. What a summer! Ashlie has tried tball, dancing, and now swimming. She did not enjoy tball - the sand box was too close to the field! But dancing and swimming lessons are definitely keepers! She is signed up for level 2 swimmimg at the sports academy, and will start dance at starsteppers on Aug. 18. By her 4th day of swimming she was already able to dive down and retrieve her orange ring from the bottom of the pool- the 3 foot side. She really likes the lessons, even though her teacher is a boy. She was quite worried about that on the first day of class, but has come to realize that all boys are not as wild and crazy as the neighborhood friends!
Maxxwell is just growing each day. He is so smiley and happy! I have not taken him swimming yet, but will try before the summer is over.
We attended the Mecham reunion yesterday, it was hot, hot, hot, hot. Did I mention that it was hot! Then we headed home and had a gathering of friends for a bbq at Adams park. The kids played for 3 hours at the park, stopping long enough for a minimal dinner and cookies! We finally got together, after I took the president spot and named the date and place, then handed out assignments. We have decided to do a summer party for the families, and a winter party for adults only. We nominated Bryan Harper as the president over the winter party. By the way Bryan, that is payback for not showing up at the bbq!
So summer is cruising by, and we are enjoying life all together! Love to all!

Touche Stephanie, touche. I will begin preparing right away! So sorry about Saturday! Hope everyone was well and good.
The kids are growing up so fast. It is good that Ashlie is trying everything to find what whe likes best. I liked the Cache Valley hat Maxxwell had on. The "C" is for Cache Valley, right?
Love from Minnesota,
Dad, Rose, Jimi, and Toby
